Thank You.

I do not know if the N54/N55 manifold fit. I used the stock exhaust manifolds to make a turbo manifold.

I do have some pics, have to find them. No CAD prints.

I'm still figuring it out. I think I pretty much have it figured out but waiting on additional parts to confirm fitment. I have figured out it would be easier to use an N55 transmission. I think the hardest thing is you would need to have your drive shaft shortened. When I confirm fitment and operation will post it up.

They are Siemens Deka 80 LB High Impedance Fuel Injectors EV1 style. From race parts solutions.

They plug in to stock connectors and bolt right in, they are just a little longer so I used some fuel rail spacers and longer fuel rail bolts and good to go.

The spray pattern is probably not '100% perfect BMW specific' so at idle and very low throttle/valve lift, you lose smoothness and efficiency. I bet the loss is minimal but anal BMW would want it perfect.

I believe I don't really have an issue because I use 100% E85 for fuel. When the car was stock and I was running 93 octane fuel I would have slight stumbles and off idle roughness. Then is started running 50% E85 and 50% 93 fuel mix. It idled much smoother and ran better with this combo with no CEL and no faults stored.

No, have never been to the track with this vehicle.

LOL

This will happen as soon as I get my N54 transmission conversion done. Which, hopefully if all goes well, should be done by next week. So I would say in about two weeks or so should see a dyno graph up here.

Thanks!
I found some of them, don't really have a lot of pics with everthing. Not my best work but does the job and was meant to be temporary. Still holding up after about 14 months of abuse, not too shaby...

Stock manifolds cut..

Y pipe mocked up...

Welded with up pipe to turbo flange...

top view

test fitting with turbo and wastegate positioning...

with wastegate installed and welded...

I also refinished and repainted my wheels at the same time...

Intercooler fitting and bracket fabrication...

3" downpipe to 4" exhaust to dual 3" to APEXI 3" mufflers

3" downpipe to 4" exhaust, wastegate with open dump, and oil drain..

First car show side view

First car show engine pic

Frigging awesome, OP. Would kill to have your skills and knowledge. Car looks beautiful in that last pic.

Post more vids. Would be great to see some from outside the car...rear of exhaust, front shot of engine running turbo spool etc.

Good luck with the tranny swap!!

Thanks a bunch man for the response! I'm having some thought on these injectors and the possibility of running them on the ess kit

Do you also think if you had the zf transmission from the 330i that perhaps you wouldn't have had the transmission issues that you had with the gm one?

FWIW Samsonas makes a six speed dogbox that bolts right up with no changes other than requiring a slightly longer shift rod. Not the easiest thing to use on the street though but cheaper than one of their sequentials.

Thank You. I'll have more videos in a couple weeks. Probably a dyno video and a couple runs with a couple of my friends with Porsche's, M4's, and other turbo BMW's.

I think they should work. If you get an intercooler on that thing and run some E85, you should be able to change out your supercharger pulley and run more boost... 9psi

Not really sure what transmission came with the 330i.. My car actually came with a Getrag transmission. If the transmission that came in the 330i is similar to the N54 zf transmission, then it should be good for over 500hp no problem.

LOL, I'm too cheap to even try to look at that kind of transmission.. What do they go for anyway? and What type of power do they handle? Do you have one of these in your car, or know someone that does? Not sure this would work out for me, I drive my car daily and my wife also drives it sometimes..

Yeah, way too damn much money for sure. Can't remember exactly but about four or five grand I think, not terribly bad. Way over rated for anything our cars can produce as I recall, the clutch becomes the limiting factor. Not easy to drive though, can't shift slowly or likely to cause rapid damage. I drive mine daily and it's next on the list but then with a Clutchmasters 850 a dogbox is pretty much the least of the problems on the street...

It would be cool to see what the auto transmission would do with this turbo kit

Not a bad use of the stock manifolds . Thanks for sharing as I was curious what you did. I'm sure it's pretty tight in there but I did notice a possible culprit for your boost spike (I think that was you maybe not on this thread) and that is the placement and angle of your waste gate. Not dissing just offering some constructive criticism, but if you could run the waste gate off of the leading edge of the bend rather than the trailing edge your gate should become more responsive.
