2012 E93 Radio No Sound

Went on road trip with my E93, while O was driving my radio made a weird sound, like if it shorted out. Now i have no sound, radio turns on, navi, bluetooth works but no sound. Speakers keep making a popping sound , almost like static. My navi voice works intermittently.
The car doesn't have the SOS warning light displayed, thinking is the satellite module, any suggestions? Location? it's a E93, any help would be greatly appreciated!

1st step identify the sound system this does not mean the head unit.
2 check for water on the amp if you have one of the two of three common
sound systems that have one.
(This is a common problem. Did it rain recently? )
3 Next likely thing is one of the modules on the Most Bus.

This is a common question there are many threads that describe the
troubleshooting procedure.

Thanks, yep, been doing my research. Most cases point towards the satelite module. Yes, I got caught in some heavy rain while on the road trip.

Does anyone know where the satellite module located? Is it behind the radio? Not in truck, unless hidden .

All the Most Modules are in the Trunk .
The thing is the trunk is not that accessible for an E93.

They are under the main trunk floor in a 4 door , coupe or wagon.

You need the factory manual or Ista plus/d to get physical diagrams or
you could try realoem.com

If you have one of the last E93's built it's possible the sat radio is built into the head unit
at some point they started doing this I don't know when but it was near the end of the
e9x production . Before 2010 it was modules not sure about 2010.

If you had Inpa and Ista D it would help.
In Inpa if you run functional jobs it will read all the modules in the car
at least you get and idea of what's installed in it.

Generally the option that goes bad stops displaying in the pro radio or idrive
or is not select able.

I was able to locate the amp, I disconnected plug and put the optical loop cable that I purchased, disconnected and plugged back in and the radio sound came back on, about an hour later went for a drive and the damn sound was gone again! Lol, came back on while driving. Now the sound disappeared again.

Both are fine, just confirmed that my amp is working as it should and the telecomm module is fine, both optic cables had the red light blinking light and the amp had a steady yellow. Not sure if the satellite module is behind the radio or built in the radio. This is driving me crazy, lol.....had a dong yesterday when key was in ignition, no dong today.

Removed radio this morning , satellite is integrated with head unit, fuse behind radio was good. Not sure what i should do next. Amp checked good and bluetooth module good too. Might buy a used radio to see if it fixes the issue

Issue resolved, purchased a used amp from ebay...installed and my sound is back! A steady yellow light doesn't mean that the amp is ok.....for you folks out there having this issue.
