LSD or Super Sprint full exhaust?
Curious what you guys would do:
E90 325i with 3-stage manifold, AA ceramic coated headers, Eurocharged off-road tune, BMW PI. After just adding the Headers last month, I'm definitely back in love with the car and see it having even more potential with the remaining few power mods there are on N52's. That being said, I'm having trouble deciding whether I should do the 3.91 LSD first or finish what I started on the exhaust. Option 1: 3.91 final drive diff from an E91 328ix + Mfactory LSD conversion. Option 2: Supersprint section 1 + SS connecting pipes + SS section 2 and SS muffler Curious what you think. This goal of this car is to become a weekend light track car. It will not likely see daily use

LSD. You pretty have a good mix of mods, so I'd say that.

Tough choice. LSD will absolutely do more for you in every way, but a full SS exhaust would be straight up badass
In the end, I'd most likely end up with the LSD. Swapping an LSD into a non-LSD BMW is awesome |

lol seems pretty unanimous. I don't love that my car basically sounds stock right now though.
But it sounds like the LSD is that much more worth it. Thank you guys. Tom Droze How are you liking yours?

I like it. You will find the push coming out of a corner to much stronger as compared to stock and the tracking through sweeping corners is more predictable. I would also suggest the MFactory differential bushings and an upgrade to the subframe bushings too, if you have not already done so. Also, MFactory sells a differential rebuild kit, which I recommend if you have more than 50K miles. MFactory is the only source for a rebuild kit. Oh, and don't forget the shim kit too.

LSD, no question for the track. If you want some sound find a used PE and leave the secondaries in.

It all comes down to intended usage. If your goal is really to make the thing a "weekend light track car," then obviously an LSD would be much more advantageous. But, in the short term, if you just want it to sound better (not blaming you, don't we all?) then the better option would be exhaust mods. Ideally, you would do both, but as far as what to do first - well, that depends on your priorities. Do you want to sound good or do you want to put power down more effectively when pushing the car (i.e., more than normal street use)?

Neither do I. It's just an observation.

The placebo effect, being the placebo effect, isn't noticeable but it is externally observable. To feel an increase in horsepower it's generally agreed the increase needs to be on the order of ten percent and no catback on earth will produce ~20rwhp.

I think LSD would be the best mod for autocross, other than learning how to drive
