Trust me, you can only put it off for so long, as it's not a matter of if but rather it's a matter of when, trust me I know! It only took me 7 months, 28 days, and six hours to pull the trigger!

Not 100% sure if this applies to your vehicle or if you've done it already but have you checked or replace your Vanos solenoid (s).

Hadn't thought of that, thanks! Will look into it.

On my side tried 2 different tunes, the one that came with my OFT and the same as hassmachine, didn't experience any problems with any of those tunes, personally I didn't notice much improvement over stock for the OFT tune, however I did notice an improvement over the OFT tune in mid to high rpm's with hassmachine tune, excluding the slightly better throttle response for the OFT tune, however 330i throttle response isn't too bad to start with.

My car has 105 000 miles, it would be easy to say I regret buying the OFT, which I'm kind of thinking it lol, however not having tried the other tunes/solutions (AA/OE/Evolve/etc..), it would be unfair to say that, as I'm not sure I would of liked them better.

If I get a 3 stage manifold installed, do I need to update the software or do anything else to realize any gain? Thank you.

It will work regardless but you still want the software upgrade.

Is the software upgrade the same thing as a "tune"? Without the software upgrade, how would the car know it's got a new component to work with? Doesn't the car need to signal to the manifold to control it?

Kudos to you. Good to hear. I'm barely getting a tune at 103k miles!

I have the Active Autowerke tune on my car installed at 10k miles and I'm currently at 40k.

Very happy with this tune. No issues (knock on wood), solid gains, linear power curve, and I still get 28/29 mpg highway.
