UPDATE (June 8): Help no longer needed. Lip has been installed!
Hey guys. I recently bought the aero lip from BaysonR Motorsports from eBay for $70 incl shipping to the US (I'm in Canada). Well, upon first receiving it, it didn't fit by about an inch. It wouldn't wrap around. However I didn't let it sit in the sun as recommended. I left the lip in the US and had it bake it in the sun before having it taken to a body shop in the US to paint it (half the price compared to Canada). Well, now the body shop says the paint is not sticking to the polyurethane as it's too waxy and they won't do it. So I'm stuck with a lip that may not fit and is not painted AND it's far from my home! Hahahaha!! Ok, so I assume others have had these cheap eBay lips painted no problem, right??? And it should fit, right??? Ugh. Yes, I'm being cheap but I hope this can still work somehow. Advice please!!!

If the paintshop won't do it you have a couple of options. First check with a different shop and see if they can do it or option 2 chalk it up as a loss and drop a couple of hundred dollars and get the OEM one from JGMod.

I had the same problem, but they offered to paint it anyway. I did and the paint lasted for about a week before peeling off. I wouldn't even bother. Sorry you have to deal with that.

I had the sammmmeee problem it's the damn mold release agents. I had to wipe the thing down big time with alcohol to get anything to stick to it, after that the paint stuck for the most part but it still pealed in some areas. That's what we get for going eBay! Hope this helps

I'm planning on getting an aero lip on ebay too. So what's the difference between oem and ebay ones besides the fitment? Is it the material it's made of?

I bought the aero lip from BaysonR on eBay as well. My paint shop said they had the same issue when painting it. They said they either had to do more prep or paint it twice. I ended up getting a clear bra put over it a couple of weeks later, so it never had a chance to peel off.

Wait, so install was ok though? Did you do it yourself? Did you remove the whole bumper?

Yeah I've always been skeptical about those eBay purchases when it comes to cosmetic mods on my car.
I'll go OEM or nothing. Actually I lied...my trunk spoiler is aftermarket |

Like I said before, don't waste any more money. Buy a JGmods one, the quality difference is night and day. Ebay one is way thicker and does not flow.
Ebay=$70 huge headache, made crappy, paint will chip, fitment is horrible and does not look OEM. JGmods=$200 fits perfect, looks OEM For $130 difference, It's a no brainer. |
