What the heck is this?

So this has been poking out the dash by where it meet the front glass in my 335 and I have no idea what it is. It's looks like black mesh and has these gel capsule looking things. Does anyone know if it is part of the car or something that got stuck in there??

Looks kinda like a sunglasses strap to me, or some type of string?

It looks like it can be removed. Use thin pliers to see if it can be removed. Maybe wrap the end of the pliers in electrical tape do you don't damage your dash.

I've dropped stuff down that gap and it's a bitch to get anything out. I think I dropped a parking pass down there once. In fact, I think I used another card to get it out

haha yeah i did actually pull out a couple parking passes from in there. I started pulling this with some pliers but it felt attached to something so didnt want to press further if it was meant to be there

Or try a paper clip or a wire hanger and bend a little a hook on the tip to scoop it out ...since the gap is so tight between the windshield and dashboard...just make sure you don't drop the paper clip or you end with another stuff stuck...lol
