Interesting, I'll have to check that place out. I've been wanting to get my walnut burl wrapped to black aluminum by 3m.

Theres a very good DIY on here that goes through replacing and coding, along with links to the software to code.

Found it: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=651538

Thanks mark!!! Unfortunately, I don't feel comfortable coding the injectors.... I have a misfire and it thought spark plugs / coils would fix it but no luck... Local shop said injector 6 was stuck open and needed replacement but I needed to take it to the dealer...

So misfire still there and now I'm going to have the car towed to dealership if I don't find another solution ..

Anybody have a good interior upholstery place in michigan? I guess Alex@Helix is mainly focusing on F30 wheel wraps and no longer doing E90's. Trying to get the non-sport wheel wrapped like the one below:

I had a place that wanted to do mine a while back. I don't remember where it was though. Somewhere in south east MI.
There's a few places around for sure.

when my E90 was my daily driver, i'd be getting ready to swap over to summer tires the first or second week of march...don't think that's going to happen this year.

Hey guys,
I usually have ~200 mi/tank running short trips to university and back, but recently it dropped down to 160. Initially I thought it's cold weather and whatnot, but it got warmer however car is still burning gas like crazy.
I've read several threads about fuel consumption and there are both opinions like it happens or something is wrong.
Assuming that something is wrong, I suspect VANOS, sparks or anything else engine related.
Before digging deep, can anyone suggest ideas how to check stuff, maybe someone had similar problem and found the solution?

What kind of fuel do you use?

This along with:
- how aggressive do you drive?
- when were your plugs last replaced?
- are you running snow tires?
- have you checked your tire pressure all around recently?
- what type of air filter are you running and when was it last cleaned?

If you go look at my Fuelly account for my e90 (LINK), I had a spark plug issue this past fall beginning in September that Jspec and Pinder can attest too. Essentially I was too busy with life to do the routine plug change and went several thousand miles beyond the recommended point. I can tell you it lead to other issues (misfiring) but it also dinged my MPG. I didn't get it resolved until November, and at that point it was "where did my b@lls go?" cold outside for almost two months straight.

I can tell you that these cars, being forced induction, will have worse MPG in the winter, especially if you are running an upgraded intake. Denser air leads to the ECU increasing A/F ratios to reduce knock, so while you get a stitch more power, you are burning more gas. Every winter on my old e92 (Fuelly Link) mine would dip. Go through the three years of history and you can see it, I'm super anal about recording my MPGs. Heck, back in the day I drove a 2g AWD DSM for four years and every winter the MPGs would crap out.

no need for me to reiterate what Agent already commented on.

btw, here's a DIY for VANOS replacement: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=486201

and 200 miles/tank is incredibly low let alone 160.

My thoughts exactly... I have AWD, on smaller snow tires, and drive like I stole it, and I still pull right around 300 miles/tank.

Thanks everyone for your responses!
I have 18" Pilot Sport AS and recently was checking tires, the pressure was good.

Typically, I had up to 400 mi/tank on highway; 200 in town. I think 200 is low, but fair since East Lansing has ~5-7 traffic lights in 2 miles route to school. Fuel is about the same 91-93 premium (from cheap admiral though).
I haven't drove anywhere far enough to check highway mpg, but 160 is significant drop - that's why I started to worry. Especially because I was trying to moderate my driving style to go "greener" =)

I believe that VANOS, spark plugs were never changed on this car; air filter was changed maybe a year ago to KN one. Currently I have 45500 mi.
Will double check error codes - I don't have a cable at the moment. But thanks for an advice - have to plan maintenance in near future.

I've got 72k and haven't done a thing to the engine other than a K&N two years ago and AA tune last summer.

Maybe an O2 sensor going prematurely bad.

Oh yeah, maybe air sensor at your intake may have (although unlikely) been damaged when installing your k&n. I did forget to plug the sensor back in when I did my install and got a cel

I doubt that, after I installed K&N everything was fine till this Jan/Feb. Maybe some crap got in there over time.
O2 sensor and lambda that's what I've read on E30/40 forums. Are those things readable with cable or is it just replace and pray that problem was fixed?

You have to disconnect the maf sensor to replace the filter. May have a loose connection but I doubt it.

I would assume you'd have a CEL if an O2 sensor was bad but you never know.
