Thanks...seen these threads already... ideally i am after a 330d m57 install rather than a 335.... the breather is different and wanted to see how others have routed their pipework, location of catch can etc... got a provent style can, 1" hoses and connectors lined up but wanted to see what others have done with the 330d engine as the info is limited from what i have found so far...

I thought the 330d in Europe was the same as the 335d in America. That said, y'all have a different CCV setup.

I have some pictures from a 330d setup I think. For Torqu3, 330d is a single turbo and 335d was sold in Europe too with slightly higher stock hp
than our stock North American ones.

I got to work real late and will look for them a little later please.

This is way less than i thought it was. I was giving advice to another 330d owner. I added notes to his pictures (first 2) and also showed a Norht american diesel CCV hose assembly. Sorry, my memory wasn't so good.

I'm sure you can splice in a catch can. The basic premise is to cut into the flexible hose that feeds down into a "shoe" shaped part that attaches to inlet of turbo. You use 90 elbows at those cut ins and connect hose to opposite ends of 90° bends. The hoses connect to the catch can.

You will need to be creative in how you route your hoses to have no local low spots where water can condense (and possibly freeze if it gets cold where you're at).

Do you know where you want to put your can? best plan is to start there and work backwards. good luck

Thanks BB, the setup on euro ccv is different and not like 35d... there is no separator hose outlet as it is a sealed unit. I have seen someone plate the ccv and put a elbow hose out from this directly but worried about the pressure from the crankcase being adjusted too much +/-. Initially i was going to hook the hoses up to the turbo pipe air feed return and the outlet pipe at the bottom of the air filter. My only concern is the filter will still soak up most of the oily gases. At the minute mine is breathing too heavy and sucking oil through the turbo and need to rectify before the seals go terminal. I am replacing the ccv from the empty box to the vortex to adjust pressure slightly and hope this cures a lot of the issues but wanted to install a provent also as heard good things hence asking to see what others have done.

I may modify the old ccv unit and plum a hose into the top of it to cut out the filter element if it doesnt stop the oil from being driven down the turbo but will keep you all posted. I dont think anyone on here has done a set up like this with a euro m57 so gonna be a bit of RnD.

Our euro models don’t have that heater, just a pipe which is about £12-15

Here is my provent 200 install, as installed last summer. Works great!

I've also installed a drain valve below the catch tank.

For those running the Provent, how many, if any, have plumbed an oil return back into the engine? Or is there any spot to do so?

Mine goes back into the turbo inlet pipe. No atmo dump here.
