I am interested. New to site and BMWs. I have an '06 330 with chrome trim that I would love to trade and I live in Easton - not that far. I just need to read/learn how to take mine off.

ok good however there is a bit of a problem

the bottom part of the trim will be bent during removal and hence be useless however we can certainly do the top in less than 15 mins, there is a post i posted up there^^^^ look at it and tell me if you are interested in just doing the top....you can blackout the bottom later.

why don't you just buy one off the dealer? I'm not sure how much it'll cost but at least it won't be damaged during the DIY since its a pretty hard one to do without bending the chrome and its so thin that unless you really know what your doing its going to bend. Just my .02 though

oh and i don't mean to bash your thread at all but I think the guys who have chrome trim that want black are just putting black vinyl over it, it seems to be the latest mod lol.

some people prefer the quality and of peace of mind from OEM parts rather than cheap vinyl that'll bubble and fade. I mean.. theres nothing OEM about putting sticky black tape over your 40k+ car ya know? Its on the same level as carbon sticker, just a temporary thing. If you want it done right and have the sleek look of black trim swapping would be the best way to go.

BTW:: Oem parts are pricey, no one is gonna buy new trim and have their old laying around, swapping is definately the smarter thing to do.

I gotta disagree man black vinyl looks just as good as the oem ones do you can't even tell the difference. Also todays vinyl is made so it won't fade/peel off and the only way it'll bubble is if you didn't apply it correctly. And oem parts are expensive so why someone would try to take it off and risk bending it would be beyond me, because its not like the guy your trading with is going to pay for it then. just my .02 though.
