PBX installation problem
Hello,
I just get PBX with cuted connectors on wiring. Now I have only pair of same color wires. I know those pair of colored wires goes, one to ECU connector and other one to car original wiring. I can’t identify which goes where. Can anyone suggest, is tere any way to identify which wire goes where? Thanks a lot. |

IMO, I wouldn't bother. It doesn't increase power in any way. It jut makes the pedal over sensitive.
There's a wiring chart posted in another thread about the pbx, but I don't remember any of it off the top of my head. |

So In case if I install PBX, than change 1IM to 3IM and flash 328 to 330. Can I use both of them together? I mean PBX + 3IM together. I searched a lot but cant find that post regarding wiring of PBX can you post link if you have. Thank you. |

I found it, there's a link to the original wiring diagram too, not sure if it still works:
https://www.e90post.com/forums/showt...3#post20734803 also relevant: https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1481370 https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1571010 I do not recommend it with the Bimmerlabs 330i flash. The only other "tuning" ability it has (beside pedal input) is making the engine run rich at WOT - but on the 330i tune, that will not help anything, the AFR is already rich enough at WOT. In fact, with the stock cat overheat protection and above 6000rpm, it's actually *too* rich. Basically I found on the dyno, that adding fuel did not help anything, I just lost power beyond the stock 330i's ~13.3:1 AFR. Besides that, the richer AFR is likely to be adapted out after a few hundred miles anyway. |

yeah it will work the same, but you would want to verify the pinouts with the TIS, the ones I posted were for MSV70. I think they are the same but some may have moved.

Hey guys.
Finally we find wiring diagram for PBX, restore cut wires and install it on my friends 128i. Filling of torque dramatically increased on 3 MAP. He drives car with 3dr MAP without switching it because he loved it much. But yesterday we experienced strange problem. After engine start car jerked 2-3 times I thought it was mess with GM transmission, but when I pull Gas Pedal engine light comes in. Car become uncontrolled, like limp mode but it not moves at all when Speed was in D and gas pedal to the floor car idling, also engine works great while engine light without rough idle. So we call to service and take car to technicians. Car was off around 1 hour. While waiting we try our lack and car start without engine light, everything works great and it runs without problem. Technician check error stored error codes. 2 was Oxygen lambda error, like petrol/air mixture not correct combination. 1 was DME to pedal DISA signal 2 error. What will be your suggestion about those errors? Can it cause some serious problems in future? Should we remove PBX and forget about it? Thanks. |

The PBX hi jacks signals from the O2 sensors and throttle and modified them. No look at your fault codes👀 |

I ran one for 3yrs without one single code. There are tunes out there now that can elevate the dreadful throttle response. This was when AA was about all you could get.

Hello guys,
I need your help. As I already mentioned earlier, I installed PBX on my friend's e82 128i. I used a youtube video guide for installation: We experienced some kind of Engine light and problems regarding the Throttle signal and also mixture mixing errors with ODB 2. Car drive into limp mode and throws errors. If we leave a car for 20 minutes it goes to sleep and the problem gon itself. Now I found another guide online: https://www.etektuning.com/content/b...structions.pdf I found some differences between those installation guides. On youtube guide which I used for installation : 1. Small Balck Connector Pin 6 Yellow with White stripe wire, also with a number on it goes to PBX's Blue Wire. 2. Small Black Connector Pin 7 Yellow With White stripe wire, without number on it goes to PBX Orange Wire. Based on guide I additionally found online : those 2 wires reversed, 1. Small Balck Connector Pin 6 Yellow with White stripe wire, also with a number on it goes to PBX Orange Wire. 2. Small Black Connector Pin 7 Yellow With White stripe wire, without number on it goes to PBX's Blue Wire. Now I wandering which guide is correct. Can anyone help me, maybe I connected those wires incorrectly and that's a cause of errors. Thank you guys a lot. |
