iPhone 4s who has

I have ordered my sons today after loads off hassel, ended up going into the Brighton store and ordered it in there as the online system was overloaded or just fucked.

One happy kid in our house ,

Keeping my eye on it (with Andrews help ) for my wife. If the 4S is reasonably priced then I'll get that otherwise I'm just waiting to see what the prices of the normal 4 will be in a day or so - they haven't dropped yet.

Plus, can't see the 4S available on O2 just yet, but maybe it's just waiting for the websites to be updated.

Everything is 'G' now mate. Don't forget the G came from the data speed thing (I think). It's a bit like old Vectra started to sport an 'ABS' badge when it was new, don't need it now as everything has ABS.

It distinguished the 3G phones from the non-3G phones. Think it got a bit confusing as iphone just happened to also be on their 3rd iphone version at the time.

Just pre ordered mine from vodafone website.

£46 pm 24 month deal for 32gb upfront - £79

BUT

Get £59 cashback directly from voda credit to account in november and another £40 cash back via quidco. So £109 cashback

Not bad for launch day $hit

I haven't seen our new prices yet but our trading team will be putting together some new deals early next week on the 3GS and 4.

Keep your eye out for the new cheaper 8GB IP4 because if you don't need the 16GB one, it may prove to be the best buy of the lot.

Can't see me ever getting a phone on contract again, they've all gradually crept up to ridiculous prices, lock you in for longer whilst at the same time reducing what you actually get. I'd much rather buy the phone outright and put it on something like 'Giff Gaff' which I've just swapped the Mrs over to now her contracts finished, I'll be following suit in December when mines up

Phones

I only ever buy the kids phones ,I have a work supplied phone and have no idea off the cost as I don't pay it either its on vodafone and the signal is shit at home so that is a plus they can never find me.

I think if some one like palmnuts sorts you out you should be ok contract wise.

It's a iphone 4s not 4Gs

3G is the data line it uses, usual voice and text use 2g

4g is to be auctioned off next year which is basically a bigger line / pipe to allow more data usage and quicker in a nutshell

I work in telecoms on the infrastructure side.
4G will be another 2 to 3 years off in the UK.
The Operators are still rolling out 2G in some parts of the country.

Got our pre-order in on launch morning; can't wait for 14/10

Always buy our iPhones sim free - works out much cheaper and as we travel to USA often, makes sense to avoid roaming charges for calls and data.

For the first time ever, I've ordered straight from Apple at 8:40am on the pre-order day for a 32gb 4s in black via the Apple Store app,
I'm out of contract and have a buyer for my 32gb 3Gs (plus put some cash away recently), so I thought i'd probably save by doing this.
After seeing the network pricing it's probably even steven, but at least I'm not tied into a contract.
Looking forward to Friday...
