Couldn't tell you as I'm happy with the throttle response now & haven't tried...

Best bet would be to call Vishnu & ask them directly

I have the Stage 1 tune on the tablet but can't download it to my laptop using OpenFlash Manager. Is that normal? Is the tune locked on the tablet?

I was able to flash successfully and am loving it so far!

Correct. Currently, all tuned files were created using the database function which patches updates to your existing ROM. Using this method, the files are not downloadable or editable. Once we collect all the different ROM types/CAL IDs for this platform, we will release maps in .bin format along with XDF files which will allow users to modify our OTS maps or create their own.

Thanks for the clarification, Shiv. Just wanted to make sure I didn't break my tablet! Having a blast with that midrange torque; a definite improvement over my stock performance. Great job!

Called, message says they are closed for the holidays and will reopen jan 2nd.

I looked at tuner pro, the throttle table that is different is "Throttle angle aggression in overload"

However the cobb docs state this table -->
Throttle Angle aggression in overload - The amount the DME can restrict the throttle blade in high boost
scenarios.
Tuning Tips - Change 2000 Rpm and above to possibly limit throttle closure on boost error.

http://accessecu.com/cobbtuningweb/s...lpFile_BMW.pdf

I am not sure that is what needs to be adjusted for a little bit more linear throttle.

They are OPEN - all lines must have been busy & they haven't changed their message yet. I've talked with them after 1/2...

I can remember that when I was talking to Shiv, that there was a 'percentage' value(s) that needed to be changed in a table - which doesn't sound exactly like what you are talking about

Matt
We have not released any XDF files for this platform yet. The original ROMs (.bin) that you read can indeed be modified but unless you know what you are modifying, it's probably a good idea to not make any changes.

I have a question - will the OFT be able to perform a battery registration?

No

It can read/clear codes & reset various adaptations though...

Along with many other diagnostic commands, the OFT offers battery adaptation reset command (what you do after your replace the battery). Not sure if this is what you mean. I haven't heard of the term 'battery registration' before.

Some jive ass turkeys over at one of the local import shops tried to convince my friend that he needed to register and code a new battery to his E90 and it was a $700 job.
Sounds like someone is trying to yank this guy's chain as well.

what, you guys haven't heard of this? it's a known procedure to make sure the charging system adapts to the new battery.

I've heard of it, but what these "experts" were saying my buddy needed done was almost along the lines of a complete reflash.

I'm almost 100% positive the reset function is the same thing without all the hassle of INPA module commands.

I was about to pull the trigger on an AA tune but since this can become a fully custom tune, I want to know what can a tuner or I be able to tune? Or have control over?

All those fields on the left can be modified. Obviously there will be variations since we don't have boost to play with but this gives you a rough idea.

This seems legit!

How is your guys gas consumption? Without mentioning spirited driving, we know it'll be lower. But for everyday driving, cruising, one tank of gas without having fun.

Cruising I've noticed slightly better fuel economy, everyday I always get on it a lot but I'm seeing a slight increase there as well so technically that's out having fun. My fuel economy is by no means a roll model for the rest of you guys seeing as I'm breathing helium for air up here and running AWD.

oh, that shouldn't be the case... unless your friend changed from a Lead Acid battery to an AGM type (or vice versa). doing that does require a reprogram of the charging system, since the two types charge differently... At least that's what I had been reading.

He definitely didnt sign off on it and went to the dealership in the end. The fact they wanted to charge him $700 for the whole job raised the red flag for me right away. Morale of the story: Stay away from shady euro shops.

This is exactly what I've been looking for. I've been spoiled by the Hondata software on my track car, and this looks like it's just as powerful.

as soon as shiv has full support for the MSV70 DME's, I'll be placing an order :P
