Rev Motoring Silicone Intake Hose Now Available for N52!!!

As many of you know I have been working with a friend of mine who owns a performance company to produce a high quality silicone intake hose to replace the stock muffled hose. I was asked to use my car as the guinea pig for testing. I am in no other way affiliated and I will make no money on the sale of these. I hope the mods approve of this.

My Review:

This is a great new product for us N/A guys looking to squeeze every little bit out of our motors that we can. Similar products like this have been produced for virtually every other platform and shown increase in HP. I am amazed someone hasn't designed this sooner. The Rev Motoring silicone intake hose replaces the stock plastic muffled hose and replaces it with a much smoother alternative. We all know that getting air into the engine as easily as possible creates more HP.

Install is a breeze. Anyone who is even modestly mechanically inclined should have no problem. The only tools you will need are: a razor blade, 10mm socket for the 2 bolts holding the stock airbox, and a 6mm socket with extension OR flat head screwdriver to loosen stock hose clamps. The hose fits well. Very snug on the MAF side and a little loose on the IM side but nothing that the hose clamp doesn't take care of. There is one small modification that needs to be done before instillation. Once you remove the stock intake hose you will notice a small alignment tab on the IM manifold side. Using the razor blade simply cut it off. (Be careful not to cut your finger.) I have included a before and after picture below. I also found it easier to attach the Silicone Hose to the air box first then slide the whole thing back into the car then attach the hose clamps. The stock hose clamps will work you will just need to expand them.

Immediately after starting the car I could feel a difference. The revs seem to jump up faster and there is slightly more intake noise, slightly. I honestly expected more noise. I know I don't have any dyno charts or proof but the car feels faster. It seems to pull harder at higher RPM now and it is definitely louder when you step on it. I combined this with the charcoal delete and I can definitely feel a noticeable difference!

Here is where you can order:

On to the photos:

After it was removed.

Nice product. Bravo

Ask your friend about:
Any way to reduce shipping to Canada? Any Flat rate boxes? or Econ methods through USPS?

I'm looking to update to the euro air box for the n52 and wondering if this is compatible with it. I mean I would think it would be but just checking though.

I have the euro box on my 2011 n52. It's a direct fit to the stock airbox.

This hose will fit.

I've ordered mine, I'll report back with pics when installed.

It should work. OEM connector pipe is the same on both. I am considering this for my euroBox.
The end result increases some noise, but it stops turbulence from the hole.

For whatever reason, what happens if we switch back to the stock pipe and we already cut off that alignment tab for the original plastic pipe? Will it not fit again?

It will fit it just won't have the alignment tab, you can order that small elbow as a replacement, it does not cost more then a few bucks.

I can't imagine having any problems. You should be able to swap the hoses interchangeably for whatever reason...

I imagine you can always just cut a small notch into the replacement silicone hose to line up with the alignment tab. Keep the whole process completely reversible.

No issues yet. I have about 1200 miles on it so far and no problems. I double checked the tightness on the hose clamps after a few trips and they were just as tight as when I installed.
