Challenge and Ericsson Amuse don't have anything. Duke Dynamics isn't exactly well loved. Vorsteiner doesn't make one anymore. So far Seibon and VIS look like the only choices with three and two choices, respectively. Both make an OEM version. None list weights or manufacture methods like CF over FRP or what.
Anybody have any comments on VIS and/or Seibon fitment, quality, finish, weight savings, customer service, etc.? Looking to couple one of these with a Challenge CF roof and race bootlid as well as a ModMyEuro's 1M bumper and lip. TIA Seibon SKUs: HD0910BMWE90-OE, HD0910BMWE90-GTR, & HD0910BMWE90-BM VIS SKUs:09BME904DXTS-010C & 09BME904DOE-010C

Thanks but this isn't being done for looks. It's part of a weight reduction set of mods along with some more work on increasing engine power, etc.

Thanks! ET is 38. There's a 12mm spacer up front to clear the new struts and a 5mm in back. Camber is -3.8* in front, -2.6* in back, and the fenders are rolled with the fronts pulled. Front is toed out 1/16" and the rear is toed in 1/16". Fronts rubbed briefly under heavy loading going through a deep dip in the road but only when new, no rubbing now.

Going to have all the CF clearcoated but am thinking of having the bootlid and hood painted to match except for the vents, bumper definitely will be.

No idea if the weave is 1x1 like the OEM M3 roof or 2x2 like all the BMW Performance aftermarket CF parts. This is one of the reasons I'm going to use the hood and the bootlid, at least their weaves should match.

Going to remove all the hood latch hardware and cable, etc. to use locking Aerocatches. Going to see if it'll be stable w/o gas struts, a prop stick is plenty good enough. Also looking to see if it's possible to use a locking Aerocatch with the Seibon CSL trunk lid. Would get rid of hardware, inside pull, and the trunk's CA antenna. Losing the antenna is good since the Telematics Control Unit is going along with everything else lining the trunk including the battery - replacing with Braille 3121 in Macht Schnell hold-down. Weight savings, less battery, should balance the Bimmerworld differential cooler. Working with GT Motoring about the Challenge CF roof's opening for the sharkfin antenna. I have a spare antenna I've gutted and dremeled out the shield walls of the cast metal base to epoxy in the GPS antenna for the Race Technology datalogger. The cable can feed through and we'll route it to the logger before installing the non-sunroof headliner. All the other coax cables will be removed along with the TCU and whatever else, coding it all out of the system. The front overhead console will have the BMW Assist switch, sunroof switch, and passenger side airbag indicators all removed and replaced with a fabricated aluminum panel having loop type switch guards bracketing and in between locking toggle switches. Four of them cover interlocking the Accusump EPC solenoid valve, the diff cooler pump, helmet air blower, and coolshirt recirc pump. So the deal is after all that blathering is I have an OE sharkfin antenna cover coming from ECS so I can verify absolutely the assembly with the GPS antenna will fit as expected. When that's verified the roof gets ordered since I have the worse case quote for its install from the dealership now. Also have quotes for the trunk lid and hood which will get ordered after the roof is shipping. Waiting on bumper/lip install/paint quote and will order when the hood and trunk lid are ordered. Would like to change the rear bumper over to a BMW Performance aero kit and CF diffuser but the car is DSBM so I'm not sure if it'll look good. The existing BMW Performance exhaust dual tip is going to be cut off and used to terminate the custom made thinwall 304 stainless race exhaust using a Coast Fabrication muffler with V-band clamps and fiberglass packing, reusing some of the hangers, too. Deleting the foglights to fabricate and install a Dinan-like CAI. Seriously considering pulling the rear seat and gutting rear interior to weld in a four point roll bar, x-ray inspected, certified for SCCA/NASA, painted gloss white along with the interior of the trunk and using bedliner on the floorplan behind the front seats. Front seats are due to be replaced with OMP HTE-R XL seats on Planted Technology bases having the pyro tensioners transferred to them and the missing SRS elements coded out with the passenger side airbag coded to be on all the time for continuing street safety. There'll be a harness bar on the main hoop but will be reusing the Schroth Quick Fit Pro harnesses instead for the time being although I have the six point harness parts to use when at the track. Car's getting a custom made C&R radiator with built-in oil cooler - being built now as are custom made silicone radiator hoses. Oil filter cover being replace with an N54 part and modified with AN fittings for the oil cooler and Accusump connection. Accusump to be mounted horizontally to the firewall of the passenger side footwell. And after we verify Riot Racing can regrind the cams, the engine gets pulled and heavily molested. Front carpet, etc. are to be gutted and we're working on getting custom carbon fiber floorpans layed up locally. Might remove radio/BT/USB, speakers, amp, harnessing, etc. as well. Target weight is 3000 lbs unladen. Yeah, world's most overkill non-race NA I6 3-series, I think.

Yeah, won't be the first time. Sure did strip the undercarriage replacing the suspension. Wasn't going to do any exterior mods but the 1M bumper and CF end to end is just too cool to pass up for less than ten grand. Pricey to save a hundred pounds but a hundred pounds isn't easy to come by anyway. The roll bar is close to half that and weighs about the same, give or take so it's doubly painful. And it'll be built to be extendable to a full cage. Already have one HTE-R XL seat but considering using it for the passenger seat and getting a Carbon version for the driver side so when running solo it's minimum weight. And it's my daily and will be even when all this is done.
