Why didn't I just buy the Honda???

Just like it says. After a few weird service isssues, I am really questioning the long-term reliability and livability of the dang BMW 328. Anyone else feel similar. Of course, this is prompted by my recent call from my SA, see related post: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=411641

Probably over reacting, but, just a thought...Why didn't I just go for the boring, but completely reliable Honda???

Because I haven't found a Honda that has a hardtop convertible and handles like my BMW.
Although we do have a Honda in the family as well.

Ha! I sometimes think, why didn't I just get a 328... no hpfp issues, no wastegate/turbo issues, and better mpg..... then I hit the loud pedal and remember why. ;-)

As others have said, Hondas are reliable, but boring. life is too short for boring. At least in my book.

Someone screwed up a windshield replacement? I'm no BMW fanboi, but that hardly seems like BMW's problem. CPO probably - but not a manufacturing/long term reliability issue.

should have done like me, i got the honda as my DD and the 335I for everything else

hondas are as boring as they are reliable...down here in miami the heat is horrible and the honda is driving like a 50 ton truck frustrates the shit out of me, but i love the car and the reliability.

The honda is not completely reliable, you are thinking of a 90's Japanese car. The current gen Accord needs new rear brakes every 15-25k. They charge about $248 for the pads. This is the new Honda. You're thinking of what Honda used to be when cars were made in Japan.

Whether reliable or not, the 328 will be expensive to maintain, but it does offer driving pleasure. Perhaps a G37 is more your cup of tea where it'll outperform the 328 and be reliable, but still lacks the German feel.

^ +1 , especially on the german feel. My brother owns a G35 coupe (2006). It's a nice looking car and everything, but I hate driving it and it feels cheap, if not when you buy it then in a year or two for sure

bmw's have a lot of issues on the low, out of nowhere my 328xi needed a new tranny and T-case. They changed it under warranty but it really tarnished the image of bmw in my eyes.

Because Honda is too reliable, we are a sucker for German cars and everyone knows that German cars a cool and awesome and thus cast a big shadow on the reliability issues.

I used to drive a RSX-S and I had no complains about it whatsoever it was a fun car. I just wanted something "better" and German.

Because you'd rather spend your time in the tastefully decorated BMW customer waiting area, equipped with cappuccino machine and complementary high-speed internet access than spend your time at home if you owned a Honda?

I don't think Hondas are necessarily boring. Any car with a stick shift has a soul.

Why do people wait at the BMW dealership? The only thing I can think of is the one most convenient to them doesn't offer free loaners. But for that much $$$ or for free maintenance business, why give it to such a dealership?

An S2000 isn't a boring honda, one put a smile on my face for 7 years and now im bored with my 328. Honda brake pads are cheap btw, I paid about 40-70 IIRC for OEM s2000 pads from majestichonda.com, very easy DIY job.

My experience with BMW has been much better than with Honda. Wife's Honda Van has gone through 2 Power Steering Pumps, on third set of front brakes, and third set of their horribly expensive Run Flats. Not only is the Honda boring, but the BMW Dealer experience is far superior than that of Honda.

I think Hyundai is really moving up the ranks as an Asian car co. Think about it, Genesis coupe?? Hunnh? Don't see anything like it at Toyota or Honda. New Sonata? 10 Best? Dang.

BMW has such a strong brand image and let's face it, undeniable appeal, so we open up our wallets....
