I see you still can't let go of that center channel pipe dream. All the reasons you were given before, and now the above replies, all still apply. Sadly, your best bet is to get an installer to help tune that system, or have someone like Nelson share that tune. Honest, no BS, people aren't trying to steer you wrong. Not to sound like a jerk, (sorry, I come across that way) but if you aren't getting a good soundstage with the 82dsp, then you're simply doing it wrong. |

i will be very interested in the e90 tune and how it compares to where I ended up with my helix dsp tune in my e90. not so much in the eq settings because I am running morels and kickers under the seats, but in how the time alignment settings look for the door and underseats.

Finally finished installing the MBQuart Mids and the Seas H1396 Tweeters in my car's front doors. Boy! the clarity is so good. The tweeters reproduce tunes so clearly. It may be due to the additional crossovers that come with the MBQuart. The stock speakers and tweeters are just not meant for a car like this.
I am still running the stocks subs and stock rears. I think I will stop spending money here as this is just right for me. The e90 tune may sound better. I will wait for Nelson's tune but with the F30+BSW tune, the imaging is excellent. |

Any updates regarding the Tune, Nelson?
Also, I am planning to switch out the rear speakers with this one: Match MS4X or Kicker-41KSC44 What do you think? Are these good options? The Kickers can handle lot more power than the Match speakers. |

Don't bother upgrading the rears. Save your money. Get the Jehnerts 8" midbasses and call it a day.... If you have extra money left over than you can upgrade the rears. Last edited by Nelson@BimmerTech; 09-24-2015 at 12:31 PM.. |

With the Dynavin N6's Dynabass set to little less than Midway, I am pretty happy with the bass. Its certainly more pronounced that I expected with the stock subs. |

Hi Nelson,
I tried the e90 tune today. Now I am kinda confused which I like more .
Now you are forcing me to buy the remote for PP82DSP so that I can switch between the 2 profiles on the fly . This is certainly "the best" audio investment for me. Thanks a lot! |

Intrigued by the SQ tune.
I have the simple JL XD600/6 amp (technic harness) for my 2011 E90M3 w/HiFi sound. If I understand things correctly, this amp is essentially plug/play and will make things sound *better*, right (after the SQ tune, that is). In my E46M3, I have Hybrid Audio Technologies Clarus and Legatia speakers, but I really don't want to do as much custom work as I had to for that... So if you can make the HiFi system sound and image as well as my ATC SCM 19v2's can in the home system, I'll squander, errrr, spend some money on car audio again! Coming to CES or SEMA?

And where did you mount the remote in the cabin? I am planning to just leave it below the driver seat with some velcro. That should be fine right? Thanks. |

Yes I do, $60. Yeah that's fine. That's how we had on the S6.

Now I am considering adding a trunk sub for under $300-$350. I have been reading about corner mount subs (similar to musicarnw's enclosure), regular sub box or the storage area in the trunk (similar to BSW's ghost system).
Many thanks to this thread: Kaigoss69's Sub analysis I dont have a ski hole in the rear seat. So IB is not an option. This points I considered was
Given my constraints, I came up with this setup: Pioneer TSWX2502 setup in downfiring setup along with ARC Audio 125.2 bridged. Is this a good setup nelson? |

If you keep reading through the various subwoofer discussions, you'll find that in the E90's (especially more so for those without the fold down seats and/or ski pass) the trunk ends up being a bass trap.
One of the reasons the ski pass setup works so well is because the subwoofer is literally firing into the cabin. There's much less wasted energy for the waves to try to penetrate through the trunk and into the cabin to be heard/felt. The obvious downside to it, is that you will take up an oddball sized section of your existing trunk space. While the idea for your sub doesn't necessarily mean it will be bad, it will likely take more power to overcome the sub getting basically "trapped" inside the trunk. Putting the subwoofer in a corner enclosure such as Musicar's takes advantage of what they call "corner loading" to effectively use the barrier as a "boost" so to speak. Most of what I just said above is a very broad over generalization. There's real math and physics behind it all that's probably a bit beyond me being able to break down into easy explanations. TLDR; Ski Pass = highest quality Corner loaded enclosure probably your next best bet under trunk floor enclosure will likely give you the lowest output. All of the above is assuming the same amount of power ratio. Basically, to give the same effect that a Ski Pass enclosure can give you, you'd have to have much higher amplifier output, which also increases the chances for things to rattle to hell back there. Again, broad over generalization, but should give you the idea. |
