FS/FT: Rear View Mirror with integrated Valentine 1 Concealed Display
Selling my auto-dimming rear-view mirror with a custom integrated concealed display for Valentine 1 radar detector. The concealed display itself was modified with colored LED for easier band identification, and then integrated into the mirror. This setup allows a very clean factory like install. It is a very nice addition to your V1 setup. When on, the lights come on and shine through the mirror; when off, it looks like completely stock mirror. There is a 8' cord that comes out from the back of the mirror to plug into a V1. Overall, the mirror's condition is 8-9 out of 10 with some minor scuffs from opening it, and a tiny scratch on the mirror's glass, otherwise it is in a great condition (request close-up pics if interested). While concealed display lights are perfectly visible at dark, they are dim at daylight. The mirror does not have compass and homelink functionality. Compatible with any 2007+ 1,3,5 and X BMW series I am looking to sell the mirror for best offer, or trade. $250

Thanks! It is pretty cool mod indeed!
You'd never tell I have a radar detector (neither LE ), unless you look at the back where my V1 sits... Totally clean and very stealthy setup, I even never take my V1 off - can't see it from outside. Here is how it looks in the back (V1 is not for sale - only the mirror) and from the outside:

Mirrors with Homelink and compass don't have enough room inside for the CD integration.
IMO, this mod overweights a need for Homelink and a compass - I never missed those while having this on.

so are you going to install a V1 CD upfront somewhere? How will you see the display?

I am going to build another one with CD in the mirror. Selling this one, because I need a FMIC.

Yes, it will fit. Maybe autodim will work too, but not sure - depends on the wiring in your car.

If it does not have the wiring to power the autodim, then you may need a retrofit kit (p/n 61120434330).
Quite easy to retrofit, here is the DIY: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=450516

I was just pricing these out yesterday, I was wondering where a good spot would be to put the V1. Nice set up!
I might have to take this off your hands... No clown nose on the mirror tho??

Ever make one with a compass? I have an auto dimming, compass, homelink, clown nose I would be willing to part with for a deal of some sort. What else is needed, a V1 itself? |
