Should be available for anyone else as long as the bosses are supplied. Will have pics eventually.
Decel is still probably too much, but curious to see how you like it once it gets installed!

Interestingly I received a reply from Jim today covering ramp angles as part of a group of questions I had. He replied he's starting with 30/60 on this sixth generation of his LSD design and will eventually incorporate 30/90 but the feedback he's received from drivers -- "any accel angle of 20 degrees of less is like an on/off switch - abrupt, less predictable - and any decel angle over 70 degrees is essentially the same as 90" -- and further - "So, even though your static setting might seem "high" by today's aftermarket standard, it will not cause any understeer , and even on the most severe throttle lifts, in the lowest gear without over-revving , there will be minimal, additional locking and still well short of rear wheel lockup" -- which is all good to know. I'm sure it'll feel worlds different from the current setup, will let you know how it goes once I get back to the track. Thanks for all the help on this, made asking Jim pertinent questions a lot easier.

We're waiting on the bosses to arrive so the shop can ship the LSD out to Jim for rebuild. It will be a 3.91 final with six 90mm clutch plates per axle, the larger spider gears, and 80-85 ft-lb static lock and he'll put the pickup tube and fittings in the optimal locations for the cooler. Verified the total fluid volume is just under 3L so we're good to go.

Jim's building me a similar diff right now as well. 30/60 ramps, 80% static lock, but 3.73 final drive and I think only 4 clutch plates. But it is the newer design with the larger spider gears. He's also going to use the E60 finned cover. Total fluid volume should be just under 2L.

Jim's been great to work with, though. Answers questions patiently and in great detail.

Hellz yeah, Jim rocks. Since we're using a cooler he's just using a std cover. I think it's a std cover anyway. Pretty sure this sixth gen LSD is gonna kick ass.

Will be very interested in hearing what your thoughts are once you have it installed.

Just heard from Jim - sounds like the shop is working very hard this month to make holiday commitments. I asked PG to take as much time as needed on mine. My preference is to be patient and do the job right. This also presents the option of going with the updated, 6th generation LS with larger spider gears, so I will.

Sorry, just getting around to this.

I can understand the on/off switch. Purely based on my application I didn't want any additional lock under decel, I was nervous a 60 setup might have some minor push on slow corners.

However, for a track application I think Jim is right in his finding and recommendations.

IMO this is where the additional money spent, is well worth it.

Well, all of this talk makes me want to throw notions of a "plug and play" M3 diff right out the window.

"thanks" all :-)
